Includes personal and political correspondence, legal and judicial records, and photographs that document the early settlement and establishment of government in the territory and state of Indiana. Includes correspondence of Jonathan Jennings, the first governor of Indiana, and various official records of Indiana governors. Also includes letters of William Henry Harrison and Thomas Jefferson. Some material relates to slavery, Native Americans, the capture of Kaskaskia during the Revolution, and military activities in the War of 1812.
